Sycamore Class

Welcome to Sycamore Class

We are class of reception children.

Our teacher is Mrs Warren and Mrs Payne and Miss Davies helps us too.

Mrs Parker supports us on a Wednesday.

Home Learning for Extreme Weather 24/6 & 25/6

The children will share their new version of the story of Sleepy Mr Bumblebee. Please help your child to learn it and maybe add some actions and/or sound effects ready to perform it at back school.

Please use the links below to revisit our 'special friends' in phonics

Maths

Numberblocks - Series 3: Blockzilla - BBC iPlayer

1. Snack Sorting

  • Give your child two plates.
  • Put a different number of snacks on each (e.g. grapes or crackers).
  • Ask:
“Which plate has more? Which has less?

    Toy Compare Game

    • Choose two groups of toys (e.g. 3 cars and 5 teddies).
    • Encourage counting and then ask:
      • “Who has more?”
      • “Who has fewer?”

💡 Tip: Line them up side-by-side so children can see clearly. Pairing objects helps them understand quantity.

    Dice Game

    • Roll a dice twice.
    • Build two towers using blocks or Lego (one for each number).
    • Ask:
“Which tower has more? Which has less?”
    • Laundry Sort

      • Put socks or clothes into two piles.
      • Ask your child to compare:
        • “Which pile has more?”
        • “Can you make them equal?”
